Respected
sir,
I A Richards
theory of Figurative Language.
Here I have
selected one song from bollywood movie N
H 10. Who was also related to I A Richards figurative language. Here I am
analized this song accoding to Richards theory.
Song: chhil
gaye naina
Music
:Drashan Rathod and sanjeev Rathod
Singers:
Dipanshu pandit and kanika kapoor
Kanch ki nind aayi ,Pathar k khwaab layi
Kanch ki nind aayi, Pathar k khwaab layi
Jane rab
jane kab ,Zakhmon se mill gaye naina
Chhil gaye naina, chhil
gaye naina.
Above this
line there were talking about some kind of suffer of somebody and how they
think about the life and about the bad nightmare.
Here he/she
think about the condition of sleep. The sleep that came was made of glass. And
also it brought dreams of stone. They also asks to God that I don’t know when
and how my eyes were scratched?
Tukada
tukada in saanson ka
Seene mein
hai bikhara pada
Sookha hua samandar,Hai
aankho k ander
Dhadkan
chalegi kaise, dil mein chubhe hain khanjar
Din kaale kaale
lage, lagti hai kaali kaali raina
Chhil
gaye naina, chhil gaye naina.
In this some
another lines he/she talking about broken pieces of these breathes are
scattered in the chest. And also talking about eyes, it connected with the
dried ocean. In the next lines there were talking about the heartbeat, how it
go on because there were knives pocking into heart. And in the last two lines
there were talking about the concept of day and night there were both seems
dark day and night too. And again says that my eyes got scratched.
Analysis : In this song poet wants to say about the imagination about
life with some kind of metaphore. Like kaach, pathar, samundar, khanjar etc.
Problems in understanding the lyrics: 1) How can sleep like glass?
2) How can dreams like stone?
3) How can eyes like dried ocean?
4) How can knives pocking into heart?
5) How can eyes scratched with the stone?
Thank you....
